Fire Sprinkers
A fire sprinkler system is an instant fire protection measure, where a web of water pipes with adequate pressure and flow rate is installed across the building with Fire sprinklers connected to them.
Sprinklers are equipped with a red-colored glass-bulb with a breaking temperature of 68 °C and in the event of a fire or temperature in excess of 68 °C, the system gets activated. A Sprinkler generally discharges about 150 liters/min compared to 900 liters/Min by a fire department hose stream. In addition, a sprinkler will usually activate within four minutes, whereas a fire appliance takes an average of eight minutes, after receiving an alarm, to reach an incident. This delay can result in substantial fire damage before the appliance arrives and a much larger fire requiring much more water to achieve extinguishment.

Earlier the fire sprinkler systems were limited only to industrial units and were better known as Commercial Fire sprinkler. The application of Commercial fire sprinkler systems was primarily done at Banks, Govt. establishments, hospitals, Schools, Factories etc.
Over these years, the numerous benefits offered by commercial fire sprinkler systems have been replicated in the domestic front as well. Most residential properties which includes, houses and residential apartments too have installed Domestic Fire Sprinklers. The domestic fire sprinkler offers a comprehensive solution for fire protection, which is a little expensive though, however mandated by a few Insurance and regulatory authorities of few countries.
