Fire sprinklers are by far the most efficient and effective fire devices available with a whole series of reports indicating
a worldwide success rate of over 99%. Although smoke detectors are also valuable they can only provide a warning
of fire and their success at preventing disaster is dependent on someone alerting the Fire Service. |
When a fire sprinkler activates, an audible alarm will sound thus not only warning of a fire but also acting immediately
to extinguish the blaze, regardless of anyone’s presence. |

The majority of all fire casualties are either the very young, the very old or those physically or mentally incapacitated;
those often unable to help themselves. |

| What’s the damage? |
Buildings that endure severe fire are often damaged beyond repair and become uninhabitable. Homes protected by fire
sprinklers can often be back in use within hours and the rest of the building is generally unaffected. Each sprinkler
is individually triggered by the intense heat of a fire and only the sprinkler/s directly over the fire becomes active.
Sprinklers use considerably less water that the Fire Brigade saving property from water damage. Figures suggest
sprinklers release less than 1% of water used by fire service hoses. |
